When the full-frame mirrorless EOS RF system was announced with a new lens mount in October 2018, many took it as a sign that it was only a matter of time until the Canon EOS M series was discontinued. It is now official as all Canon EOS-M camera bodies are now marked as discontinued on Canon’s Japanese website.

This includes the popular Canon EOS M50 and M50 Mark II. Some EOS-M cameras are listed on Canon’s USA website as out of stock but are still available in the US from retailers like B&H and Adorama. They are also available in the UK, but presumably only until existing stocks of the EOS M50 Mark II and lenses run out and appear to be out of stock online on the Canon UK website.
