All-female community group SheClicks now has a podcast – SheClicks Women in Photography! Aiming to raise the profile of female photography by sharing the work and experiences of women in the industry, the podcast is now available with its first episode with guest Cristina Mittermeier. It has also reached the top spot on Apple Podcasts UK Visual Arts chart within the first few days of release.

In the interview-style podcasts, SheClicks founder Angela Nicholson speaks with women in the photographic industry about their experiences, what drives them and how they got to where they are now. The aim is to raise the profile of female photography and discuss the issues that women encounter in the photographic industry.
The first guest is world-renowned marine biologist, conservationist, photographer and filmmaker Cristina Mittermeier, who has dedicated her life to protecting the World’s oceans and inspired millions of people to do the same. Cristina is also a Sony imaging ambassador and the recipient of the first SheClicks Lifetime Achievement Award. In addition, she was the first female photographer to get over 1 million followers on Instagram. Upcoming guests include fashion and beauty photographer, Lindsay Adler.
Angela told us, ‘After SheClicks won the Amateur Photographer Community of the Year Award [at the AP Awards earlier this year], I began to think about the next steps and how we could continue to raise the profile of female photographers. We already have online webinars, a YouTube channel, a Facebook group, a website, and meet-ups, so a podcast featuring some of the best female photographers around seemed like a logical step. As Cristina won the first SheClicks Lifetime Achievement Award, I reached out to her to see if she would be willing to be a guest on our first podcast. I was absolutely delighted that she agreed!’
