Samsung has released the Samsung T5 EVO, a lightweight portable SSD with up to 8TB storage capacity for accommodating high-resolution videos, photos and more.
Based on USB 3.2 Gen 1, the Samsung T5 EVO transfers data at read and write speeds of up to 460 MB/s. The drive weighs 102 grams and is 95mm wide, 40mm long and 17mm thick. Additionally, its metal body and rubberised surface is said to provide protection from external shocks like drops of up to two metres.
The Samsung T5 EVO is compatible with MacOS and Windows computers as well as smartphones and tablets. It will be available to buy in December in 2TB ($189.99 / £159.99), 4TB ($349.99 / £294.99), and 8TB ($649.99 / £538.99) sizes and comes with a USB-C cable and a three-year limited warranty.
