After taking TikTok and Instagram by storm, the viral success of the Kodak Charmera shows no sign of slowing down. The company even released another set, the Kodak Charmera Millennium, with new shiny colours and a secret design, but the catch remains that these adorable point-and-shoot cameras come in so-called ‘blind boxes’.
With equal chances of getting any of the six new metallic colours (pink, blue, orange, silver, green, and black) and the prospect of a rare seventh design with a metal chrome finish, available with a 1-in-48 chance, these tiny lo-fi accessories are also becoming collectables.
The first edition’s secret version was a transparent plastic finish that revealed the Charmera’s inner components. On sites like eBay, some of these fetched upwards of £100 from dedicated collectors looking to complete their sets.

Under the hood, however, the hardware remains delightfully low-tech to preserve that imperfect, nostalgic charm, a 35mm equivalent f2.4 lens backed by a 1/4in CMOS sensor with a 1.6MP output and some 2000’s photo filters to complete the grainy look. If your primary goal is capturing pocket-sized selfies, you might also want to check out the Yashica Funtastic Keycain camera as it features a similarly adorable Y2K vibe—including Hello Kitty and Snoopy designs—but adds a handy 180-degree flip-up screen.
Pre-orders for the Kodak Charmera Millennium are now open on kodak.retopro.co for a single mystery box at $34.99, or you can opt for a ‘Whole Box’ collection which is guaranteed to include six different designs for $209.94.
