Yashica has just announced an adorable cartoon-themed keychain camera series, the Yashica Funtastic Keychain Camera. With tiny and toy cameras like the Kodak Charmera and various others popping up on sites like AliExpress, there’s plenty of competition to look out for. We have tested a few, but this compact point and shoot offers something I haven’t seen on any of them – a selfie screen.
Yashica Funtastic Keychain Camera at a glance:
- 1MP 1/4inch sensor
- F2.8 lens, 1/125s shutter speed
- Flip up selfie screen
- 30fps video
- 22g
Weighing only 22 grams, and measuring slightly bigger than a matchbox (6.3 x 2.2 x 2.5cm) you can attach it to your bag or keychain and have it handy to capture everyday moments. The 0.96inch screen at the rear flips up for quick selfies and videos. With a 1MP 1/4″ CMOS sensor and an f/2.8 lens at its core, you can expect nostalgic Y2K style images, as it can capture JPEGs up to 1440 × 1080 resolution and video in AVI up to 30fps. It has a 200mAh battery which charges via USB-C, and it uses this same port for file transfer too.
There’s a classic Hello Kitty edition in red ($28), and there are two versions available for Peanut lovers with Snoopy; one in green with a camping theme called Snoopy Summit ($28) and another in vibrant yellow, called Sweet Dreams Home edition ($28). Finally, the Yashica Boy ($25)in pale blue features a small sailor boy inspired by classic Japanese illustration.
Preorders are now open on Yashica’s website, with shipping expected by the end of June 2026.
