Polaroid has just announced its smallest instant camera to date, the Polaroid Go Generation 3. One thing that has always been a drawback with instant cameras is their bulky build. Measuring 10.5 x 8.4 x 6.1 cm, the Polaroid Go Gen 3 is about the size of an orange, uses smaller, pocket-sized Polaroid Go film, and claims the title of the smallest instant camera in the World!

Polaroid Go Gen 3 at a glance:

  • Lens: 63.75mm f/14,4-f/32 fixed focus lens
  • selfie mirror
  • self-timer
  • double exposure mode
  • available in 5 colours
  • uses Polaroid Go film
  • 4,2 x 3.3 x 2,5 inch / 10,6 x 8,3 x 6,4 cm
  • 8,9 oz/ 251g- without film pack

Instax will have a lot of catching up to do as the Polaroid Go Generation 3 beats their smallest devices, the Instax Mini 12 and Instax Mini Evo, by 4cm.

Updating the previous Polaroid Generation 2 not just in terms of size, but also by adding a new 63.75mm fixedfocus lens (approx. 42-35mm equivalent) with a variable aperture between f/14 and f/32. It is also capable of covering shutter speeds between 1/500-1sec to handle motion. Additionally, the selfie mirror helps you compose your shots and take better photos at arm’s length, so you won’t end up cropping half an ear. With the newly added self-timer, you can mount it on a tripod and take larger group photos, too.

An improved, stronger flash helps to deliver better low-light shots and freeze motion, and there’s more room for creativity with a new built-in doubleexposure mode. Using a smaller 4.7cm Polaroid Go instant film retains the iconic Polaroid frame and square format, but is compact enough to fit in the back of a phone case. Equipped with a built-in USB-C rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery, it can handle up to 15 film packs on one charge.

The Polaroid Go Generation 3 is now available in five different colours on Polaroid.com for $89,99 / £79.99, with a wider rollout planned from 16 June.
