Launched in association with Canon UK, The Video Mode will cover everything from reviews of cameras and accessories to tutorials on shooting and editing.
Although primarily the site is aimed at those wanting to learn to shoot with their DSLR, there will be technique articles aimed at those already shooting videos who want to take the jump to the next level.
As well as having an experienced editorial team, The Video Mode has a network of professional videographers who will be creating tutorials and offering their insight in to filmmaking.
Pieces already on the site include Nigel Atherton’s guide to using ND filters for video and the story of how wildlife photographer Luke Massey became a DSLR cameraman.
Commenting on the launch, Amateur Photographer editor Nigel Atherton said: ‘When video capture was introduced in to DSLR cameras it opened up a new world of possibilities for videographers.
‘Amateurs were able to shoot professional quality high definition video with their existing equipment, and professionals had smaller cameras that enabled them to shoot in new ways, without sacrificing quality.’
