LAS VEGAS – As CES exhibitors focus on boosting connectivity, Sony promises new ways to view, edit and share digital images on electronic devices – such as TVs, tablets and smartphones – using PlayMemories.
Due to be available from this spring, for example, will be a ‘free’ cloud-based service called PlayMemories Online, allowing photographers to upload their pictures and video and view them on multiple devices.

LAS VEGAS (CES Booth #14200), Jan. 9, 2012 ? Sony today announced the launch of the new PlayMemories series of ?post-shooting? solutions, enabling users to view, edit and share videos and photos on a variety of electronic devices including LCD TVs, personal computers, tablets and smartphones.
Under the concept, “Play More. All your Memories,? the PlayMemories series will provide an experience where personal content can be easily customized and enjoyed across multiple Sony products after its captured.
The PlayMemories series consists of four separate solutions: PlayMemories Online?, PlayMemories Home?, PlayMemories Studio?, and PlayMemories Mobile? services, each designed for its own specific purpose. Descriptions of each service are as follows:
PlayMemories Online?
Available Spring 2012 (free)
This cloud-based service allows consumers to upload videos and photos captured with digital cameras or camcorders and enjoy them anytime, anywhere on multiple devices including compatible BRAVIA® televisions, personal computers, tablets and smartphones. With a single account, users can enjoy this service as well as other music and video services offered on the Sony Entertainment Network platform.
PlayMemories Home?
Bundled with Sony Digital Imaging Products Starting January 2012
This PC software allows consumers to easily transfer, organize, view and share photos and videos. It features a calendar and map view for simplifying the task of organizing content according to date or location. Both 2D and 3D content can be easily edited and copied onto compatible Blu-ray Disc? media; and uploading to PlayMemories Online, Facebook®, YouTube? and other platforms can done quickly and easily without the need for a Web browser.
PlayMemories Studio?
Available Spring 2012 at Playstation® Store (paid)
Taking advantage of the extremely high processing power of PS3? systems, users can freely navigate personal videos and photos, and edit HD video content in a fun, interactive video-game-styled interface. This service can also be used remotely with a PlaystationVita? or PSP? device via RemotePlay (requires wireless connection). In addition to content stored on the PS3, this application also allows users to access personal videos and photos on external cameras, hard drives and storage devices connected via USB to the Playstation unit. Content can also be shared easily to PlayMemories Online, Facebook and more.
PlayMemories Mobile?
Available at Android Market? and iTunes® app store starting in early January (free)
Through the PlayMemories Mobile application for Android? or iOS, users can easily transfer videos and photos captured with the newly announced Bloggie Live? Wi-Fi®-enabled video camera to their compatible smartphones and tablets.
