Sony’s European president Fujio Nishida has said that he expects the company’s two newly showcased Alpha DSLRs to ‘solidify’ the company’s position in the marketplace.
Speaking tonight at a European press conference Nishida said: ‘These will enable us to cover a wider spectrum of the market and give customers more options to trade up.’
The two new models – one aimed at high-end amateurs and the other a ‘flagship’ camera – were first shown at the PMA show in Las Vegas earlier this month.
Now on display at Sony’s conference in Rhodes, Greece, the flagship model carries the code name ‘CX62500’, while the enthusiast camera has been labelled the ‘CX62300’.
A spokesman said that the final name of the cameras has not yet been decided.
