Sigma has launched its Nikon-fit 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 DC OS lens which includes a built-in HSM motor for compatibility with the D40 and D40x digital SLRs.
Sigma Imaging (UK) has confirmed a UK price of £439.99. It is due out now.
?The slight delay was due to a re-design of the AF motor,? explained a Sigma UK spokesman.
?But we are now pleased to announce the availability of the new 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 DC OS in Nikon mount which now includes Sigma?s HSM at no extra charge, making it fully compatible with Nikon D40 an D40x cameras.?
The new optic includes Sigma?s Optical Stabiliser (OS) function to help compensate for camera shake.
Also on board are two Special Low Dispersion elements and three aspherical lenses to help correct aberrations.
