The Royal Photographic Society has elected its first Scottish president since the Earl of Crawford in 1897.
Roy Robertson, who lives in Newport-on-Tay, replaces Rosemary Wilman at the helm of the 158-year-old institution, which is based in Bath.
Robertson, who was elected vice-president in 2009, said: ?I am passionate about my own photography and during my presidency I am seeking to provide further opportunities for members to share their own experiences and share from each other.
?I am keen to expand the many different way that members and the wider public can find and develop their own routes in photography and I believe the Society is well placed to do this.?
Robertson will hold the position until 2013.
His photographic interests revolve around documentary, contemporary and landscape photography.
