Renowned photo lab Metro Imaging will close its Soho branch in central London on 1 February 2008 in response to shrinking demand for film processing.

?This closure is part of a progressive restructuring of The Metro Group in response to the dramatically changing landscape of the photographic industry,? said Metro Imaging Limited in a statement.

Since it began scaling down its film processing operations Metro has increasingly focused its resources on print-making and exhibition production.

Metro?s founder and managing director Ben Richardson said that high quality film processing must now be regarded as a ?specialist service?.

Metro will continue to operate its lab in Clerkenwell to which a bicycle courier service for film processing will run from Soho.

The Clerkenwell branch is based at 32 Great Sutton Street, London EC1V ONB. Call 020 7865 0000 or visit
