Pentax will return to the Focus on Imaging show for the first time in six years as it pledges to provide camera gear for all photographers, and celebrates a successful year.
Pentax Imaging Systems General Manager Jonathan Martin said: ?We are committed to providing a wide range of quality cameras which appeal to everyone, from professional photographers through to photography enthusiasts and novices.?
He added: ?2010 was a great year for Pentax and we are confident that this year?s bold product line-up will continue this upward trend.?
Two year?s ago the picture was not quite so rosy for Pentax when Jessops, the UK?s biggest high street photo chain, dropped all Pentax-branded cameras from its range of products, spelling the loss of a brand with a history stretching back to 1919.
Jessops said the move followed a review to establish which products meet customer needs at the ‘best prices’.
Since then Pentax has staged a comeback with new DSLRs including the 645D medium format camera, a 25mm lens for which was announced earlier this week.
Earlier this month we reported that sales of Pentax cameras exceeded expectations in the last three months of 2010, boosted by new DSLRs, according to the brand’s owner, Hoya.
It is six years since the firm hosted its own stand at Focus, which opens at the Birmingham NEC on 6 March.
