In an advisory notice, Nikon says the fault sometimes results in ‘shading of a portion of images’.

Nikon has urged customers to check the seven-digit serial number of their cameras to find out whether it is one of the affected models.

A spokesperson for Nikon UK said: ‘We are very sorry for any inconvenience that this might cause our customers.

‘Whilst the number of cameras affected is small, we are taking proactive action to minimise any potential future issues for our customers.

‘We would request that D750 owners refer to the advisory notice and check to see if their camera could be affected by the issue.

‘For more detailed information on this, please refer to the service advisory [below].’

Nikon UK declined to say how many of the faulty cameras have reached the Europe or the UK.
