Nikon has posted a teaser and countdown on its websites for an upcoming launch event. There have been rumors of a high-end Nikon Z8 for several months now and it is thought to be exactly what Nikon is teasing here. Nikon’s post provides an opportunity to sign up for more information, but gives no further details.
There are no hard facts about the Nikon Z8 yet but it is thought to be a smaller alternative to the Nikon Z9, sitting between it and the Nikon Z7 II. With its 45.7MP full-frame sensor and extended 8K video recording, the Z9’s release was highly-anticipated.
In our review of the Nikon Z9, we gave it five stars and said that ‘In practice, the Z9 delivers impressively on its considerable promise. It combines high resolution, breathtaking speed, and professional handling in a body so solidly built that it feels like it could stop a bullet’.
The launch event is expected to take place at 12:00 pm UTC / 8:00 am ET / 5:00 am PT / 1:00 pm BST on 10 May.
