Initial range comprises two Valkyrie backpacks and two Wraith shoulder bags, with each available in a choice of three colours
Morally Toxic is a new brand of camera bags from the team that brought you 3 Legged Thing tripods. The idea is to shake up the sector with striking designs and innovative ideas. Initially, the range will comprise two Valkyrie backpacks and two Wraith shoulder bags.
Each bag features an externally accessible waterproof ‘frog pocket’, which allows separate storage of wet gear such as coats or towels. Alternatively, it can be folded away inside so the full space can be used for your camera kit. Another interesting new idea is that the dividers used to arrange your kit have foldaway pockets on them, providing greater flexibility over where to store items such as batteries and filters.
The bags are said to be constructed from premium materials, and each design is available in attractive Emerald blue and Sapphire green colours as well as black. All have padded laptop compartments, while the backpacks include loops for carrying a tripod externally. The bags sport external organiser pockets for pens, business cards and the like, and hidden pockets for valuable documents.
Initially, the Valkyrie backpack will be available in two sizes, Medium (20L) and Large (25L), for £259.99 and £269.99 respectively. Meanwhile, the Wraith shoulder bag comes in Medium (15L) for £169.99, and Large (20L) for £179.99.
The company has explained its choice of the Morally Toxic brand name, and how it reflects its ideals. “Morally – because the company aims to achieve the highest standards, whilst ensuring working conditions in partner factories are indicative of their values, and the workers are treated with respect. Manufacturing processes minimise waste, and limit the use of plastic content, and where possible, source recycled ocean plastics. Toxic – because the brand challenges the dull, corporate-looking aesthetic of traditional bags. The brand is a corrosion of conformity – designed to handle the rigours of professional use and provide effortless workflow and innovative organisation, and do it with style. Morally Toxic bags are for photographers of all shapes, sizes, ages, genders, colours, and cultures.”
We’ve been trying out samples of each bag style prior to their official launch – look out for our upcoming review.
