Amanda, who took the photo in South Africa using a GoPro camera, posted in on Instagram two weeks ago.
In an interview with Time LightBox, published earlier this week, Amanda said: ‘I wasn’t even a little bit frightened.
‘When you’re there and you’re in their presence, it’s not scary.
‘They’re beautiful and graceful, and you can see how intelligent they are.’
Amanda said she had been working on a conservation project when she took the photo over the summer.
The image even earned Amanda an appearance on US TV show Good Morning America.
