A European arrest warrant has been issued for the celebrity photographer who faced five years in jail when he disappeared last Friday, reports Italian news agency Ansa.
Italian authorities say that the photographer’s escape from the law, a few hours before his conviction was announced by a court, means he will face almost three years extra time in prison.
Corona was accused of demanding money from Trezeguet, a former Juventus striker, in return for potentially compromising photos.
The photographer reportedly went missing when he visited a gym, despite his movements being monitored by police.
Authorities in Milan, and Interpol, are investigating.
The arrest warrant was issued by authorities in Turin.
