The Nikon D810 is much more of an all-rounder than its predecessor. Whereas the Nikon D800 was popular amongst studio and landscape photographers, the improved AF and shooting rate made the Nikon D810 more appealing to sports and wildlife photographers.
It also strongly appeals to travel and documentary photographers needing high-resolution shots and is built like a tank. The only real downside is that you can’t shoot 4k video.
