Canon today confirmed that it will donate the equivalent of around £318,000 to relief efforts, while Nikon has pledged £212,000.

More than 200 people are feared dead or missing after the quake which hit the country’s Sichuan province.

Canon and Nikon have yet to decide which organisations will receive the cash.
