AP would like to clarify that the news story relating to an interview with Olympus USA DSLR product manager Richard S. Pelkowski in no way suggested that the company’s E system of Four Thirds cameras will not continue in the future. The article simply reported that Mr Pelkowski told AP that he expects that in about two years time E system cameras will not use a mirror system.
AP is issuing this clarification is response to some confusion concerning the article’s contents, and suggestions that Mr Pelkowski’s comments in a meeting on the Olympus stand at the PMA show with Amateur Photographer editor Damien Demolder and technical editor Angela Nicholson had been misinterpreted.
AP is waiting for an official comment from Olympus on the question of whether MR Pelkowski’s expectations accurately reflect the future direction of the E system.
