Morrisons says it plans to begin trading at the two-floor New Oxford Street outlet ‘by the end of the summer’.
A spokesman for Morrisons has confirmed that the Jessops in High Street Kensington is also one of the seven Jessops outlets that the supermarket chain has acquired in the capital.
In 2009, Jessops revamped the New Oxford Street branch, which lies in a prime location, hailing it as a radical step forward in customer service by allowing visitors to interact with products.
It boasted 14 photo processing kiosks – the largest number in any Jessops store – and was the first to offer on-site canvas printing.
At the time, Jessops said it aimed to create a contemporary environment ‘conducive to creativity’.
Customers, from ‘novice to professional’, could take part in photography courses in the Jessops Academy Training room.
The shop was among 187 to close on 11 January, two days after the chain was put into administration.
Last week, it emerged that Jessops had left debts exceeding £80 million.
