We’re gearing up for Photokina in the AP office – this time next week we’ll be in the thick of the world’s biggest imaging festival with a feast of new photo gear.
We’ve already seen a few exciting products in the run-up. First up, Sony’s new lens-style cameras the ILCE-QX1 and DSC-QX30, which hook up to your smartphone like the previous QX cameras.
What’s different this time though is that, unlike its fixed lens brethren, the QX1 is a sensor module with an E-mount, allowing you to attach E-mount lenses. We’ve already taken it out for a play, and you can see our sample image gallery here.
Elsewhere we’ve seen Zeiss unveil a new Otus 1.4/85 premium short telephoto lens, the successor to its phenomenal Otus 1.4/55, promising edge-to-edge sharpness and not a whisper of chromatic aberration.
