Check out our video above as we discover more about the new Zeiss lenses announced last week in Cologne.

With the addition of a fourth manual-focus Loxia lens for Sony E-mount cameras – a compact 85mm f/2.4 – the German company is clearly hoping to appeal to full-frame videographers.

Also on the table are three new Milvus lens releases, announced a short while ago. These take the form of two super-wide angle lenses, the Zeiss Milvus 2.8/15 and Zeiss Milvus 2.8/18 both (f/2.8-f/22), and and telephoto offering, the Zeiss Milvus 2/135 (f/2-22). Aimed at higher-end DSLR users, this brings the Milvus lens family up to 9 different focal lengths. The Milvus lenses all feature a ZF.2 mount and are compatible with their previously released lens gears, letting users ‘De-Click’ and control their lenses’ aperture more freely when in use – eliminating any unwanted changes in brightness when filming and panning.

A release for the new lenses is scheduled for late October of this year and will be €2,699 for the 2.8/15, €2,299 for the 2.8/18 and €2,199 for the 2/135.
