The first in the Leica T compact system camera line was unveiled a few weeks ago, featuring an APS-C-sized imaging sensor.
Is Leica considering the launch of a full-frame version?
Schopf was asked the question in an interview with Amateur Photographer (AP), to which he replied: ‘Let’s wait and see’.
He stressed, however, that it was no more than a possibility.
When pressed on whether any research and development on a ‘full-frame’ T was underway, Schopf declined to comment, expressing concern that his words may be misinterpreted.
In a separate interview, Leica product manager Stefan Daniel emphasised the importance of the Leica T’s smaller format in enabling the system’s lenses to also be made smaller.
