McCullin bagged the Photographic Research/Report Award at the Hamdan International Photography Award (HIPA).
‘Researchers are people that dedicate their unprecedented time and efforts towards a particular field of study,’ explained HIPA, which is committed to encouraging and supporting art, culture and innovation in Dubai.
‘The findings compiled during research often help people in industries advance their knowledge and capabilities.’
McCullin received the gong from His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum at an awards ceremony on 15 March.
In a statement, organisers added: ‘The Hamdan International Photography Award aims to enhance the ever-developing research field within photography by introducing the “Photographic Research/Report Award”, to the most comprehensive research compiled in the field of photography.
‘This falls in line with the strategic goal of the award to develop the art of photography for the entire photographic community.’
