Dennis, who works for Agence France-Presse, triumphed over nearly 400 other photographers in a competition designed to showcase the talents of those working in, and for, UK media.
Winners included Jack Hill from The Times newspaper who won first prize in the News Folio of the Year category with an image captured in Syria.
The best images are due to go on show in the Lyttelton foyer at the National Theatre on London’s South Bank from 6 July-31 August.
