Voseo is a new photography app that’s promising to shake up the photo editing app offering. Mimicking the real analogue process, the Voseo app lets you take 24 or 36 exposures, much like you would with real film. There’s also a more unconventional 50 exposure option, for those who can’t commit to the small batches just yet. This comes with the commitment to no retakes or editing, and when your digital film roll is up, Voseo automatically sends your classic 6×4 prints.
Regardless of your phones capabilities it lets you use the 0.6 to 4x zoom options on the rear, alongside flash and the selfie camera. But that’s still much more than what you would be able to do with a disposable camera, as their fixed lenses limit you to wide-angle shots. You don’t see the final shot, nor the film simulation as you shoot, but Voseo says they apply a unique machine learning algorithm designed to replicate a classic, organic filmic look.
The app is available for Android and iOS; you can either subscribe or get packages as you go, starting from £14.99/month for 24 exposures or £17.99 as a one-off purchase. This price includes digital film processing, printing and delivery. Good news: you can get the first 10 shots for free!
We are all guilty of overshooting and just storing images on our phones without ever really looking at them again, let alone printing them out, so Voseo’s initiative to make users be more present in the moment and enjoy physical prints instead of focusing on perfection is a clever antidote to the endless camera roll scroll and editing.
