The first two are zoom lenses, due to arrive in Japan and the USA towards the end of 2016. The 18-35mm T2 (above) and 50-100mm T2 (below), part of the High Speed Zoom Line, are built to be compact and ‘ready for high resolution shooting such as 6K-8K’.
They are expected to go on sale in the UK in early 2017.
Prices have yet to be announced.
In a statement Sigma said: ‘In the world of digital film production, there is increasing demand for higher resolution, and Sigma’s new line-up of high-performance lenses is compatible with the latest high-resolution digital cinema cameras.’
Offering ‘unbeatable value’, Sigma predicts the new line could create a ‘fundamental change in digital film production’.
Sigma plans to add the following lenses in 2017 and later: a 24-35mm T2.2 FF, 20mm T1.5, 24mm T1.5, 35mm T1.5, 50mm T1.5, and 85mm T1.5.
