Samsung plans to be one of the ‘top three’ brands for digital SLR cameras within two years, a key official has revealed to Amateur Photographer (AP) magazine.
The ambitious plan was revealed by Samsung Techwin’s Marketing Planning Group general manager Kim Young-Bae during a briefing with AP at PMA today.
However, Mr Young-Bae would not say exactly what worldwide DSLR market share Samsung expects to hold in a year’s time.
Currently, Samsung holds just over 1% of the market.
The company has told us that it hopes its future DSLR portfolio will range from entry-level to ‘higher-end’ models.
Last week the firm announced its latest DSLR, the GX-20.
