An exhibition will open tomorrow in tribute to a photographer who committed suicide earlier this year after suffering mental health problems.
Portrait photographer Matthew R Lewis, 49, took his own life in May.
His famous subjects included celebrities such as Stephen Fry, Boy George and Björk.
An exhibition of Matthew’s images opens from 7-15 August at The Movie Poster Art Gallery in London.
It has been organised by the photographer’s partner of 20 years Andrew Shanahan.
Andrew said Matthew had been working on the exhibition, called Of Gods and Monsters, at the time of his death.
‘All the photographs are framed and waiting under the stairs, and the accompanying words are on Matthew’s laptop,’ said Andrew.
Proceeds from the show will be donated to the mental health charity Mind and the bipolar organisation MDF.
The gallery can be found at 1 Colville Place, London W1T 2BG. Visit www.mpag.co.uk
