The Excire Foto and Excire Search software has been named the Best Photo Management Software at the 2026 Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) World Awards.
“It’s an honour to receive this award from TIPA,” said Erhardt Barth, CEO of PRC and a machine learning expert at the University of Lübeck in Germany. “Excire was designed to help solve a major problem for photographers today: managing ever-growing image libraries.
The latest versions of Excire Foto (a standalone program) and Excire Search (a Lightroom Classic plugin) are able to quickly find images using free-text prompt search and similarity search; apply descriptive keywords to photo and video files; search for photos of specific people and facial characteristics; identify and remove duplicate and near-duplicate files; cull images using AI-powered grouping, sorting, and selection tools, including aesthetic evaluations and sharpness rankings.
The TIPA World Awards winners are selected annually by a global panel of editors and experts from leading photography and imaging publications, representing audiences in North America, South America, Europe, Australia, and Asia.
