Pentax has today unveiled two new 6.1-million-pixel digital SLRs one of which features a Pentax-developed CCD-shift Shake Reduction (SR) system.

The K110D and K100D each feature an 11-point AF system and are compatible with existing Pentax 35mm format (K, KA, KAF and KAF2-mount) lenses.

The Shake Reduction (SR) system on the KD 100D (pictured) is designed to minimise camera shake by moving the CCD sensor vertically and horizontally to help counteract camera shake detected by a built-in sensor.

The KD100D and K110D also feature a maximum ISO setting of ISO 3200.

Features on board both models also include a 2.5in LCD screen, a top shutter speed of 1/4000sec and a burst rate of 2.8 frames per second (fps) for up to five JPEG images or three pictures shot in RAW format.

The screen resolution is 210,000 pixels.

The newcomers are each compatible with SD memory cards, have 19 custom functions and can be powered by AA batteries.

Both use a penta-mirror type viewfinder.

UK prices and availability dates are yet to be announced.
