Oppo has launched its latest flagship smartphone, the Oppo Find X7 Ultra, which notably features dual-periscope telephoto cameras and a 1-inch Sony LYT-900 sensor. The phone’s quad-camera set up was once again developed in partnership with Hasselblad, with all four having 50MP sensors.

The dual-periscope cameras in the Oppo X7 Ultra are a 65mm 3x periscope camera with 1/1.56” Sony IMX890 from the Oppo Find X6 Pro. It comes with a f/2.6 aperture, OIS and a minimum focus distance of 25cm. The second camera is a 135mm 6x telephoto camera with a 1/2.51” Sony IMX858 sensor, which also has OIS and can focus from 35cm. The ultra-wide camera has a 14mm equivalent focal length with f/2.0 aperture and autofocus. It can photograph objects as close as 4 cm.

This is one of a few portrait samples taken with the Oppo Find X7 Ultra that Oppo shared on Weibo before the phone’s launch on 8 January 2024.

Oppo have said that the Oppo Find X7 Ultra’s four cameras offer smooth zoom between 14 mm and 270 mm without a noticeable degradation in image quality. Additionally, the Find X7’s camera app will come with Master Mode, an advanced Pro Mode that was developed with Hasselblad that will allow you to control image parameters and enable RAW shooting.

The Oppo Find X7 Ultra has a 120 Hz 6.82” LTPO OLED screen with QHD+ resolution, up to 4,500 nits peak brightness and supports ProXDR, which is Oppo’s version of the Ultra HDR image format. The chipset is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.

The phone comes in three colours, Ocean Blue, Sepia Brown and Tailored Black. However. it is only available in China at the time of writing. The 12 + 256GB option is priced at 5,999 Chinese Yuan (around $840 / £665), the 16 + 256GB option is 6,499 Chinese Yuan (around $910 / £720), and the 16 + 512GB option is 6,999 Chinese Yuan (around $980 / £776)
