Looking through all the Black Friday camera deals, I was bowled over by this attractive discount on the OM System OM-1, complete with a far from shabby 12-40mm lens.
We’ve found the OM System OM-1 bundled with the M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-40mm f2.8 PRO II for just £1889.99, which is keenly priced power combination with a great discount of 16%. It’s also available for £1595 body only, a 19% saving!
Customers in the US can get it with the same lens for $2399.99, a saving of 14%.
I have spent quite a lot of time with the OM-1 this year and it’s a very likeable camera, with a host of powerful features and a great selection of lenses. I used it a lot on a recent trip to Japan, and even with the 100-400mm lens attached, the camera is compact and light enough to fit into hand luggage on planes or a shoulder bag.
I particularly liked the subject-detection AF, which proved useful for everything from samurai to herons, along with its high-speed features, impressive high ISO performance for a Micro Four Thirds sensor, and highly effective image stabilisation. The 12-40mm lens is relatively fast (F/2.8) too, with a versatile range. For this money you really can’t go too far wrong.
