Motorola announced no less than eight new devices to its camera phone lineup today. Three new Razr flip phones—the Razr 70, 70 Plus, and 70 Ultra were added alongside a new Moto Edge 70 Pro, four new budget entries (the Moto G87, G37, G37 Power, and G47), and new styles for the Swarovski-bejewelled Brilliant Collection.
Across the Razr lineup, Motorola implemented a series of AI upgrades like Group Shot, which fixes blinking faces, Auto-zoom tracking, and Editing-style learning. The Razr 70 Ultra retains the triple 50MP camera setup but is backed by a new LOFIC sensor that promises better dynamic range and improved low-light performance. The base Razr 70 model is brought up to speed with a new 50MP ultrawide camera, while improvements were made across the board to screen brightness and battery capacity.
The Edge 70 Pro received a substantial upgrade with a 50MP periscope telephoto camera and a bigger 5500mAh battery. In the budget lineup, the firm skipped the G36 entirely and released the G37 with a 108MP f/1.7 sensor, but surprisingly downgraded to a meagre 2MP macro camera. The biggest upgrade to the G87 is the main camera, which is boosted to 200MP and relies on pixel binning. Motorola decided to focus its efforts on stills photography rather than video, as all devices across the G series are equipped only with 2K video.
