Renowned London-based photo lab Metro Imaging is to end its round-the-clock film processing service at Clerkenwell from 1 April, blaming a huge fall in demand.
Instead, the lab ? the only one of three Metro branches to currently offer the 24/7 service – will open from 7am until 11pm.
A source ? who declined to be named ? blamed the move on the decline in demand brought on by the digital revolution over the past five years.
It is understood that photographers requiring film to be processed outside these times may be able to do so provided they give the lab prior notice.
Founded in 1980 as a black and white photo lab Metro also has branches in Soho and Chelsea.
Metro Imaging?s clients mainly consists of photographers working in advertising, editorial and fashion.
