Norwegian photographer Glenn Rokeberg’s new book ‘Trusted Guardians: Inside the Mounted Regiment’ documents a unique and fresh perspective of the British monarch’s official bodyguard since 1660, the ‘Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment.’ They are the most senior regiment within the British Army which Rokeberg has spent over two years photographing.

A warm and loving theme which reverberates continuously within the book is the indelible connection between horse and soldier. Many soldiers arrive with no riding experience at all but do undertake an intensive training regime before continuing daily schooling in London. This relationship between the two are immensely built on three significant factors, patience, trust, and an unspoken understanding.
