Fade is designed to allow photographers to soften colours for an ‘aged film effect’, while Color allows the tinting of highlights and shadows in an image. For full details, see the Instagram blog page.
PRESS RELEASE
Instagram has announced the launch of two new creative tools – Fade and Color. In December, Instagram demonstrated its commitment to bringing the best-in-class creative tools to its community with the launch of five new filters and the ability to tweak perspective.
Fade and Color are the latest response to the Instagram community’s calls for even more creative options.
Please see below for further details about these new tools.
· Fade: allows you to create an aged film effect on your photo by softening the colours.
· Color: allows you to tint the highlights or shadows in your photo. You can choose from a range of eight colour options – yellow, orange, red, pink, purple, blue, cyan and green. ‘Shadows’ will add to the dark areas of the photo, while ‘Highlights’ will add colours to the bright areas of the photo.
Fade and Color will appear under the creative tools toggle alongside Instagram’s other editing tools.
Please find examples of each creative tool below, while high-res versions can be downloaded here. For more information, please check out the Instagram blog.
