Datacolor has announced the Spyder X2 series, its next generation of color calibration tools for display monitors, including the Spyder X2 Elite and Spyder X2 Ultra. They are described by Datacolor as ideal for tethered shooting, outdoor shots where bright monitors attached to a computer is a must, photo and video location shooting, landscape photography, as well as outdoor and studio portraits.

The Spyder X2 Elite and Spyder X2 Ultra have an expanded sensor capability that allows for calibration of HDR/high-brightness monitors up to 2000 cd/m2 (nits) and include calibration features like Video & Cinema targets (Rec. 709, Rec. 2020), Advanced Display Mapping & Analysis, Unlimited Calibration Settings and Studio Match for multiple, as well as side-by-side display calibration.
