Aimed at digital SLR users are two storage devices from Canon, each of which features a 3.7in monitor and USB 2.0 Hi-Speed connectivity for transferring images.
The Canon Media Storage M30 and M80 are designed to store and display digital images and movie files, with sound ? supporting Canon?s RAW file format, as well as MPEG, MP3 and WAV, according to the company.
?As well as extending pro photographer back-up and storage capacity, there is no doubt the units will appeal to amateur photographers looking for more flexible, enjoyable and portable alternatives to the traditional photo album,? claims Mogens Jensen, head of Canon Consumer Imaging Europe.
Due in shops in December the devices accept Canon?s BP 511A battery which is used in cameras including the EOS 5D, 20D and 30D.
Prices are yet to be confirmed.
