Adobe is integrating Firefly, its AI model for generating image and text effects, into the latest beta version of Adobe Express, its all-in-one app for designing and sharing a wide range of social media posts, videos, photos, posters and more. This means that Express’s catalogue of more than 20,000 assets and fonts can now be personalised using generative text effects.
The latest beta desktop version of Express is available to download now for free, coming later for mobile devices. This follows the integration of Adobe Firefly into Adobe Photoshop last month and the new beta version of Adobe Express will have the same Firefly generative AI text-to-image and text effects tool as Photoshop. However, it will not include Generative Fill, a tool recently introduced in the beta version of Photoshop which allows you to quickly create, add to, remove or replace images with simple text prompts.
What makes Adobe Firefly stand out from other generative AI is that it’s trained on Adobe Stock images, openly licensed content and public domain content where copyright has expired.
This beta version of Express will also include improved integration with other Adobe apps allowing Creative Cloud members to seamlessly import, edit, and stay synced across apps within Express and real-time collaboration is supported. Once the full version of the software is launched, existing Adobe Creative Cloud members can opt for the Adobe Express premium plan to access more assets and templates, with subscriptions starting at $9.99 / £9.99 / AU$10.99 a month.
David Wadhwani, president, Digital Media Business, Adobe said, ‘Creators can now make stunning videos, designs and documents faster than ever before and our seamless workflows with our flagship applications give Creative Cloud subscribers even more control over the creative process.’
