Dubbed iSight, the new camera boasts larger pixels on its sensor to enable it to receive more light.
Features include auto image stabilisation and a continuous burst mode of 10 frames per second.
Its new True Tone flash features a white and an amber LED designed to work with ‘intelligent software algorithms’ to alter flash intensity and colour temperature.
Users will have the option of choosing to shoot in square format – the camera automatically framing and cropping the image accordingly.
The iPhone 5s also includes a faster image processor, according to Apple.
The iPhone 5s will cost from £549 (16GB model) and is expected out later this month when it will come in gold, silver and ‘space grey’ finishes.
