After thirty successful years photographing pop-culture icons and helped shape the fashion photography world, Rankin has shown us how a person’s personality can be captured in one portrait shot.

3. Brooke Shaden – @brookeshaden
Brooke is a fine art photographer who has grown into a self-portrait artist. Her passion lies in creating new worlds through photographs.
By using painterly techniques as well as the square format, Brooke’s imagery extends beyond the realm of the camera, creating images that resemble paintings and era’s that are not our own. Her fantasy style of photography has an inspiring quality that is a must-have in any twitter feed.
4. Ami Vitale – @Amivee
Ami is a National Geographic photographer and an official Nikon ambassador. She is a photojournalist who has travelled to eighty-five countries and has had her photographs exhibited around the world.
Recently, she has been working on creating powerful and persuasive films illustrating problems women face in developing countries. Her work is usually very intimate and being a Nikon ambassador she uses Nikon bodies and Nikkor lenses. Her workhorse is the 24-70mm or the fixed 24mm 1.8. Ami’s twitter feed is full to the brim of powerful imagery and thought provoking shots.
5. Holly Booth – @hollyphotobooth
Holly is a product photographer who specialises in working with independent makers, designers, crafters & shops. Holly injects personality and creativity into her photographs creating beautiful, galvanising imagery.

6. Michael Yamashita – @YamashitaPhoto
Working on an assignment for a long time or trying to find inspiration from the same product can be frustrating. After spending several years in Asia, Michael Yamashita demonstrates how a large amount of time spent on a project one can effortlessly capture the essence and atmosphere of your muse.
