Due out in mid-December, the MCEX-11 and MCEX-16 are each set to cost £69.99. They are designed to still allow use of AF and aperture control when attached.
The mount rings are made of ‘high-grade’ solid metal, according to Fuji.
Fuji has also today announced it will release firmware updates for the X-T1 and X-T1 Graphite Silver Edition on 18 December, in a move aimed at enhancing ‘operability and functions’.
Commenting on the Fujifilm X-T1 version 3.00 update, Fuji says: ‘The Fujinon XF lens series line-up includes a number of fast fixed-focal-length lenses that boast very high sharpness with the aperture wide open, producing excellent out-of-focus “bokeh”.
‘However, fast apertures are difficult to use if the light is too bright, so to ensure users can create shallow depth-of-field effects, the camera is now equipped with a fully electronic shutter offering a maximum shutter speed of 1/32,000sec.
‘The mechanical shutter will not operate at all when any speed for the electronic shutter is selected, which also delivers a completely silent shooting experience; perfect for shots of sleeping children, pets, weddings and more.
‘In addition, it is possible to set the electronic shutter in 1/3 steps from a range of 1-32,000sec.’
The update allows the volume of the shutter sound to be adjusted.
Also set to be released on 18 December is firmware version 3.00 for the X-E2, which adds Fuji’s Classic Chrome film simulation mode, for example.
The X-E2 update is also claimed to enable seamless manual focusing when using the AF+MF function.
‘After half-pressing the shutter to autofocus on the subject, fine adjustment can then be made using the manual focus ring.’
This function will also be available through firmware update version 3.40 for the X-Pro1 and version 2.40 for the X-E1.
Meanwhile, PC tethered shooting software for the X-T1 (HS-V5 for Windows Ver 1.0) is due out in January at a price yet to be announced.
