Pentax has stepped up the functionality of its K10D digital SLR by releasing firmware that allows photographers to use a computer to control camera functions, including picture taking.
Firmware Update Version 1.20 supports Pentax Remote Assistant 3 (for Windows) – software enabling the K10?s functions to be controlled via a computer connected to the camera using a USB cable.
Pentax?s flagship 10.2-million-pixel digital SLR was announced last September to squarely target the photo enthusiast market.
It houses an APS-C size imaging sensor and boasts features such as CCD-shift Shake Reduction and a Dust Removal system (see AP News 30 September 2006).
