Sony has confirmed that there will be a successor to the Alpha 700. No launch date or specification has been revealed, apart from the fact that AVCHD video recording will be possible, but a concept version is on display at the PMA show in Anaheim, USA. Alongside the unnamed enthusiast-level dummy camera, there is a smaller concept camera that appears to have a flip-up LCD screen.

Prototypes of a 500mm f/4 G and a new Carl Zeiss Distagon T 24mm f/2 ZA SSM are also on display.
