The Panasonic Lumix G Macro 30mm f/2.8 ASPH Mega OIS features a maximum reproduction ratio of 1:1, making it a ‘true’ macro lens.
It’s equipped with Panasonic’s MEGA Optical Image Stabiliser which is used to combat blurring effects caused by camera shake.
Delivering the 35mm viewing angle equivalent of a 60mm lens, the 30mm macro also has multi-coated lens elements to help cut flare and ghosting.
The lens is constructed of nine elements in nine groups, one of which is an aspherical element designed to greatly reduce aberrations. It carries an aperture range of f/2.8 to f/22, has a closest focusing distance of 10.5cm, and features seven diaphragm blades.
Measuring around 63.5mm from tip to base, the Lumix G Macro 30mm f/2.8 weighs about 180g and has a filter size of 46mm.
It was announced back in February along with the Lumix G 42.5mm f/1.7 Asph/Power OIS, a lens designed to give beautiful bokeh in portraits.
