You could certainly be forgiven for thinking that the Canon EOS 750D (and the 760D for that matter) were announced as replacements for the Canon EOS 700D. However, as Canon claim in their promotional material, that’s certainly not the case and instead the 750D represents a new addition to the manufacturer’s extensive – and growing – range of DSLRs.
There’s very little difference between the Canon EOS 750D and 760D – the latter features an LCD screen on its top panel with the mode dial shifted to the left of the camera, while there are several other control modifications that hint the latter model might well in fact be aimed slightly more towards the enthusiast photographer. In terms of the camera’s innards, however, the two cameras are identical.
The Canon EOS 750D features a newly developed 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor which sports a native ISO range of 100-12,800, as well as offering Full HD video recording at a frame rate of up to 60fps and at up to 77Mbps write speed.
A range of features have also been inherited from further up the Canon EOS DSLR tree, including the same 19 cross-type AF point focusing system as seen in the Canon EOS 70D.
Other features include a 3in vari-angle LCD screen and the benefit of both Wi-fi and NFC connectivity which allow for a host of further functionality to be access through the compatible Canon camera app on either smartphone or tablet.
We’ve been out testing the camera over the past few weeks, and you can check the results out for yourself here in our Canon EOS 750D sample image gallery.
