Eric’s winning shot, titled ‘Path to Glory’, eclipsed more than 360 other entries.
The photographer, who lives in Blaenavon, south-east Wales, won a 12-month membership to the Society of International Nature and Wildlife Photographers, which organised the competition.
Entrants were asked to submit images depicting ‘anything from great vistas to beautiful seascapes’.
The runner-up was named as Matthias Dengler from Poland, while Manuj Mukherjee from India bagged second place.
